Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of all assigned guest rooms and suites, including dusting all furniture, vacuuming carpets, washing floors, and polishing surfaces to meet and exceed brand standards.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas of the guest bathroom, including toilets, sinks, vanities, showers, and tubs, ensuring a pristine and hygienic environment.
- Change all bed linens and expertly make beds according to established property guidelines, creating a crisp and inviting appearance for incoming guests.
- Replenish all guest room amenities and supplies, such as toiletries, coffee, tea, and stationery, ensuring proper quantities and placement.
- Inspect the condition of all room furniture, fixtures, and equipment, promptly reporting any damage, malfunctions, or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
- Manage and stock housekeeping carts with all necessary linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies to ensure efficiency throughout the shift.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests for special items, additional supplies, or specific cleaning services, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
- Adhere strictly to a detailed checklist for each room to guarantee that all tasks are completed consistently and no detail is overlooked.
- Empty all wastebaskets and recycling containers, replacing liners and disposing of trash in the designated manner.
- Ensure the security and privacy of each guest room, following all protocols for key control, entry, and securing rooms upon departure.
- Handle all lost and found items with integrity, carefully tagging and logging them according to the property’s established procedures.
- Operate all housekeeping equipment, such as commercial vacuums and floor polishers, in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintain a high level of personal grooming and adhere to the uniform policy, presenting a professional image to guests and colleagues.
- Proactively greet guests encountered in hallways and common areas with a warm and friendly demeanor, offering assistance when needed.
- Complete all assigned rooms within the designated timeframes to ensure a smooth and timely check-in process for arriving guests.
Secondary Functions
- Perform deep cleaning projects as scheduled by the Housekeeping Supervisor, which may include shampooing carpets, flipping mattresses, and washing windows.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, fitness centers, and public restrooms, as directed.
- Support the laundry department during peak times by assisting with washing, drying, and folding linens and towels.
- Report any suspicious activities or safety hazards observed on the property immediately to management or security.
- Attend all mandatory team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Conserve energy and supplies by following best practices, such as turning off lights in vacant rooms and using chemicals appropriately.
- Collaborate closely with the front desk and maintenance teams to communicate room status and coordinate on any urgent guest-related issues.
