Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Monitor and operate a variety of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarms, to proactively identify and address potential security risks.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of the interior and exterior of company facilities to establish a security presence and deter unauthorized activities.
  • Serve as the initial responder for all security incidents, medical emergencies, and alarms, taking immediate action in line with established emergency protocols.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of access credentials, including creating, issuing, and deactivating employee and visitor badges, ensuring all access is properly authorized.
  • Author detailed, clear, and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other formal security documentation for accountability and future reference.
  • Act as the primary liaison and customer service point of contact for any security-related inquiries or concerns from employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Administer the visitor management system, ensuring all guests are properly registered, badged, and aware of site-specific safety procedures.
  • Enforce all corporate security policies and procedures consistently, providing guidance and reminders to staff to foster a culture of security awareness.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of security plans for special events, executive protection details, and high-level meetings.
  • Perform routine checks and audits of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and door hardware, to ensure full operational readiness and report any malfunctions.
  • Control and monitor access to highly sensitive or restricted areas, diligently verifying identification and authorization before granting entry.
  • Provide secure escorts for employees and visitors to their vehicles or transportation points, particularly during off-peak hours, to enhance personal safety.
  • Manage the organization's lost and found program, carefully logging, securing, and attempting to return misplaced items to their rightful owners.
  • Assist senior security personnel and management with preliminary investigations into incidents like theft, property damage, or policy breaches by gathering initial information and witness statements.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the Security Manager by providing administrative assistance, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and managing departmental calendars.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security protocols by providing feedback and observations from a ground-level perspective.
  • Assist in conducting security orientation and basic safety training for new hires to ensure they are integrated into the company's security culture.
  • Participate actively in emergency preparedness drills, including fire, earthquake, and active shooter exercises, to maintain a high state of readiness.
  • Liaise professionally with external partners, including local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services, during incidents or for routine matters.
  • Monitor security-related communication channels, such as dedicated email inboxes and phone lines, ensuring timely responses or escalation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Access Control Systems: Proficiency in operating and managing enterprise-level access control systems (e.g., LenelS2, C-Cure, Genetec).
  • Video Surveillance (CCTV): Experience with video management systems (VMS) for live monitoring, footage review, and evidence retrieval.
  • Incident Reporting Software: Competency in using software to log, track, and manage security incidents and daily activities.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Solid skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook for report writing, data management, and communication.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED: Current certification is highly desirable for providing immediate medical assistance.
  • Emergency Communication Systems: Familiarity with mass notification systems and two-way radio communication protocols.

Experience Requirements
