Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with and welcome every customer, providing a memorable and positive first impression to foster a friendly shopping atmosphere.
  • Actively listen to customer needs, providing personalized product recommendations and style advice to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth, expert-level knowledge of our full product range, including features, benefits, and current stock availability.
  • Efficiently and accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process various transaction types, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Drive sales by consistently meeting and exceeding individual and team-based performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Inform customers about ongoing promotions, exclusive special offers, and the benefits of our customer loyalty program to encourage repeat business.
  • Build a loyal clientele by establishing genuine rapport with customers and providing an exceptional level of follow-up service.
  • Skillfully handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a satisfactory resolution.
  • Proactively approach customers on the sales floor to offer assistance, provide information, and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Manage fitting room experiences by assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring merchandise is promptly returned to the sales floor.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in the processing of new stock deliveries, including unpacking, tagging, and preparing merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Actively participate in the replenishment of stock on the sales floor to ensure all sizes and styles are available and well-presented.
  • Contribute to maintaining the store's visual merchandising standards, ensuring displays are attractive, organized, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Uphold a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and all customer-facing areas.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by remaining vigilant on the shop floor and adhering to all company security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless store operations and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Participate in regular stock-taking and inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the store is perfectly prepared for the start and end of each business day.
  • Answer the store telephone, responding to customer queries regarding stock availability, store hours, and general information.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings and continuous training sessions to stay updated on new products, policies, and sales techniques.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • POS System Proficiency: Experience operating Point of Sale (POS) terminals and handling cash, credit, and digital payment transactions.
  • Cash Handling: Strong numerical skills for accurately managing a cash drawer, providing correct change, and performing end-of-day reconciliations.
  • Inventory Management: Familiarity with stock control processes, including receiving, replenishing, and participating in cycle counts.
  • Product Knowledge Retention: Ability to quickly learn and recall detailed information about a wide range of products and services.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-2 years of experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
