Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions

- Perform system commissioning and start-up procedures to verify that the PV system is operating correctly, safely, and at peak efficiency before final handover.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, including identifying and resolving issues with panels, inverters, wiring, or performance shortfalls using diagnostic tools like multimeters and insulation resistance testers.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on existing solar installations, including cleaning panels, inspecting wiring, and testing components to ensure long-term system health and performance.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams to ensure the installation perfectly matches the engineered design.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, NFPA 70E), including proper use of fall protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Interface with customers on-site to explain the installation process, answer technical questions, and provide a clear walkthrough of the newly installed system, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Complete all necessary project documentation, including installation checklists, commissioning reports, photographic records of work, and as-built drawings for project closeout.
- Manage on-site inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring the crew has the necessary components to complete the job efficiently and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of installers, electricians, and project managers to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
