Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute the complete on-site installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software systems as outlined in project plans and schematics.
- Perform all physical installation tasks, including the professional mounting of equipment, racks, and peripherals, ensuring structural integrity and a clean aesthetic.
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e/6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, adhering to TIA/EIA standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-installation site surveys to identify and document environmental factors, power and data readiness, and potential installation challenges.
- Interpret complex technical documents, including blueprints, elevation drawings, and wiring diagrams, to ensure installation accuracy and compliance.
- Configure network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to establish secure connectivity and optimal performance.
- Systematically troubleshoot and resolve complex installation issues, including hardware failures, software conflicts, and network connectivity problems, often under pressure.
- Perform system upgrades, expansions, and hardware replacements on existing client infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to their daily operations.
- Validate complete system functionality post-installation by executing a comprehensive test plan and performance benchmarks against predefined success criteria.
- Provide clear, concise end-user training and system handover to clients, ensuring they are comfortable with the basic operation and maintenance of their new solution.
- Guarantee all work adheres strictly to industry standards, local building codes, and company-specific quality and safety protocols.
- Manage and maintain an accurate on-vehicle inventory of tools, equipment, and consumable parts required for assigned installation projects.
- Complete and submit detailed service reports, installation checklists, as-built drawings, and project sign-off documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Decommission and remove retired equipment from client sites, following proper procedures for data sanitization and environmentally responsible disposal.
- Calibrate and fine-tune sensitive electronic equipment, sensors, and peripherals to meet specific operational parameters and client specifications.
