Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Actively monitor test-takers during computer-based and paper-based examinations to prevent any form of academic dishonesty and ensure a secure environment.
  • Verify candidate identity by checking government-issued photo IDs and other required credentials against the testing roster.
  • Strictly enforce all exam rules and regulations as mandated by the specific testing agency or academic institution.
  • Provide clear, standardized instructions to candidates before, during, and after the examination.
  • Manage the secure check-in and check-out process for all examinees, ensuring a smooth and orderly flow.
  • Maintain constant vigilance through direct observation, and/or video surveillance to identify and address any irregularities.
  • Securely handle and account for all confidential test materials, including exam booklets, answer sheets, and login credentials, from receipt to return shipment.
  • Address and professionally resolve candidate inquiries or technical issues in a calm and timely manner, escalating complex problems to the Test Center Manager.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports for any testing anomalies, security breaches, or candidate misconduct.
  • Ensure the testing environment is clean, quiet, and free from distractions, setting up and breaking down the testing room as required.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
  • Prepare testing workstations by launching secure browsers, checking hardware functionality (mice, keyboards, monitors), and ensuring all equipment is operational.
  • Manage the collection and secure storage of all personal items prohibited in the testing room, such as cell phones, bags, and notes.
  • Assist candidates with approved accommodations, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with disability service guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of testing supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
  • Stay current on the procedures, policies, and software updates for a wide variety of testing programs (e.g., Pearson VUE, Prometric, ETS, College Board).
  • Perform end-of-day administrative tasks, including logging test sessions, filing paperwork, and preparing materials for the next day.
  • Operate security equipment such as handheld metal detectors or observation cameras as part of the screening process.
  • Communicate effectively with remote proctoring support teams to troubleshoot technical issues during live exams.
  • Maintain the sanitation and cleanliness of testing stations and common areas to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all participants.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive and supportive, yet firm, testing atmosphere.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Proficiency in operating Windows-based computers and navigating basic software applications.
  • Basic IT troubleshooting skills to resolve common issues with hardware, software, and network connections.
  • Familiarity with computer-based testing platforms (e.g., Prometric, Pearson VUE) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with standard office equipment, including printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently for data entry and report writing.

Minimum Education:
