Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate and maintain a variety of advanced digital textile printers, including Direct-to-Garment (DTG), dye-sublimation, and wide-format roll-to-roll machines.
- Skillfully set up, register, and operate multi-color automatic and manual screen printing presses for various substrates.
- Perform precise and consistent color matching using the Pantone Matching System (PMS), custom color formulations, or spectrophotometer data to meet client specifications.
- Expertly prepare and mix water-based, plastisol, and discharge inks, adjusting viscosity and additives for different fabric types and printing conditions.
- Manage the complete pre-press workflow, including preparing, coating, exposing, and reclaiming screens for new and repeat jobs.
- Thoroughly review and interpret work orders, digital proofs, and technical specification sheets to ensure 100% production accuracy.
JWT-START - Conduct rigorous in-process quality control checks to identify and immediately correct any print defects, misalignments, or color inconsistencies.
- Carefully load and unload fabric rolls or individual garments onto printing equipment, ensuring proper alignment, tension, and placement.
- Proactively troubleshoot and perform routine preventative maintenance on all printing equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure peak performance.
- Monitor and precisely calibrate the curing and drying process for printed textiles, operating heat presses, conveyor dryers, and steamers to ensure print longevity.
- Maintain a meticulous and detailed log of all production runs, documenting machine settings, ink formulas, material usage, and any issues encountered for future reference.
- Uphold a clean, organized, and safe printing environment, strictly adhering to all company safety protocols and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with the graphic design and pre-press teams to offer feedback and resolve any artwork or file issues prior to production.
- Manage the inventory of essential printing supplies, including inks, chemicals, screens, and substrates, and communicate restocking needs to the purchasing department.
- Execute print strike-offs and sample runs for internal review and client approval before initiating full-scale production orders.
- Finely adjust printer and press settings, such as squeegee pressure, print speed, and ink flow, to optimize quality for different fabric compositions and design complexities.
- Operate and manage RIP (Raster Image Processor) software to prepare, nest, and color-manage digital files for optimal printing output.
- Perform post-production finishing tasks, including but not limited to cutting, folding, quality inspection, and packaging of finished goods.
- Continuously monitor print quality for consistency and vibrancy across large production runs, making real-time adjustments as necessary to maintain standards.
- Reclaim, degrease, and clean screens post-production, following established procedures for chemical handling, filtration, and waste disposal.
Secondary Functions
- Assist the product development and sampling teams by executing experimental print runs on new materials and with new techniques.
- Contribute to the department's continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and helping implement workflow enhancements and waste reduction strategies.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Deep proficiency with Digital Textile Printing technologies (DTG, Dye-Sublimation, Roll-to-Roll).
- Proven expertise in both manual and automatic Screen Printing techniques and press setup.
- Advanced knowledge of Color Theory and precise Color Matching (Pantone/PMS, custom mixing).
- Experience operating RIP software (e.g., Caldera, Wasatch, Onyx, Ergosoft).
- Competency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for basic file review and pre-press adjustments.
