Primary Functions
- Direct and coordinate all daily manufacturing operations across departments such as spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing to ensure production targets are met efficiently and on schedule.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production team, including supervisors and floor staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability through regular performance reviews and targeted training.
- Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules and workflows, meticulously planning for material flow, machine capacity, and labor allocation to optimize output and minimize costly downtime.
- Champion and enforce stringent quality control standards throughout the entire production lifecycle, from raw material inspection to final product sign-off, ensuring all textiles meet or exceed client specifications.
- Develop, manage, and own the departmental operating budget, meticulously tracking expenditures, analyzing cost variances, and implementing strategic cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to enhance production efficiency, reduce material waste, and improve overall product quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), promoting a proactive safety culture through regular audits, training, and incident investigation.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Sales, and R&D to ensure alignment on production priorities, new product introductions, and evolving customer demands.
- Oversee the management of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels to prevent stockouts, optimize cash flow, and minimize carrying costs.
- Prepare and present detailed production performance reports and KPIs (e.g., Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), scrap rates, on-time delivery) to senior leadership, providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Partner with the Maintenance department to develop and execute a robust preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for all production machinery, ensuring optimal equipment uptime and longevity.
- Act as the primary troubleshooter for all complex production-related challenges, applying systematic root cause analysis to identify core issues and implement effective, lasting solutions.
- Manage the seamless transition of new textile products from development and sampling to full-scale production, coordinating trial runs and process validation to ensure a smooth and efficient launch.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all environmental regulations pertinent to textile manufacturing, particularly concerning water usage, chemical handling, effluent treatment, and waste disposal.
- Conduct long-term capacity planning to anticipate future production needs based on sales forecasts and strategic business goals, recommending necessary investments in equipment, technology, and personnel.
