Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Provide in-depth clinical consultation and therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and families within various settings such as homes, schools, and community environments.
- Develop, implement, and meticulously monitor comprehensive, individualized treatment plans and behavior support plans based on thorough functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
- Collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary teams including teachers, school administrators, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated care.
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify client needs, strengths, and underlying behavioral or emotional challenges.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and crisis management support directly to clients, employing modalities such as CBT, DBT, ABA, and trauma-informed care.
- Train, coach, and mentor parents, caregivers, and educational staff on the effective implementation of behavioral strategies and therapeutic techniques to promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous, confidential, and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plan reviews, assessment reports, and billing information in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Act as a primary liaison between families, school districts, and community resource agencies to facilitate access to services and advocate for client needs.
- Facilitate goal-oriented individual, family, and group therapy sessions designed to address specific treatment goals and enhance social-emotional skills.
- Monitor client progress towards treatment goals by systematically collecting and analyzing behavioral data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven adjustments.
- Participate actively in IEP (Individualized Education Program) and 504 Plan meetings, providing expert clinical recommendations and contributing to the development of educational and behavioral goals.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and de-escalation services in response to acute behavioral or emotional dysregulation, ensuring client safety and stability.
- Stay current with best practices, new research, and developments in the fields of behavioral health, special education, and therapeutic interventions through ongoing professional development.
- Develop and deliver engaging workshops and training programs for school staff, parents, and community members on topics such as trauma-informed practices, behavior management, and mental health awareness.
- Perform comprehensive needs assessments for schools or partner organizations to identify systemic challenges and recommend programmatic improvements for supporting student mental health.
- Guide and support the broader treatment team in understanding complex clinical cases, providing diagnostic clarification and sophisticated intervention strategies.
- Ensure all services are delivered with cultural humility and are responsive to the diverse backgrounds, identities, and needs of the client population.
