Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Provide expert clinical consultation and evidence-based guidance to interdisciplinary teams on complex behavioral health cases, including diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative mental health programs, clinical pathways, and therapeutic interventions to enhance service quality and client outcomes.
  • Design and deliver engaging clinical training, workshops, and educational materials for staff and external partners on topics like trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, CBT, and DBT.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) on mental health trends, best practices, and regulatory standards, advising leadership on strategic initiatives and policy development.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical quality reviews and chart audits to ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, documentation standards, and best practice protocols.
  • Offer direct case consultation and support for high-acuity clients, providing specialized recommendations to front-line clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with product and technology teams to inform the design and clinical integrity of mental health technology tools and digital therapeutics.
  • Facilitate clinical peer review meetings and case conferences to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical programs through data analysis, client feedback, and outcome measurement, providing reports and recommendations to leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare systems, and academic institutions to expand our network and resources.
  • Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to junior therapists, counselors, and case managers, fostering their professional growth and clinical competency.
  • Author and review clinical content for digital platforms, client-facing materials, and internal communications to ensure accuracy and therapeutic value.
  • Stay current with emerging research, new therapeutic modalities, and changes in mental health legislation to ensure our practices remain cutting-edge and compliant.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of clinical intake processes, assessment protocols, and risk management procedures.
  • Represent the organization as a clinical expert at conferences, industry events, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Lead crisis response and debriefing sessions for teams or clients following critical incidents, providing psychological first aid and support.
  • Contribute to grant writing and proposal development by providing clinical justification and program design expertise.
  • Adapt and tailor therapeutic models to meet the unique needs of diverse and specialized populations (e.g., pediatric, geriatric, corporate employees).
  • Mediate and resolve complex clinical and ethical dilemmas that arise within care teams, ensuring client safety and professional integrity.
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process for clinical positions, assessing candidates for clinical skill and cultural fit.
  • Develop and manage protocols for measuring and improving the therapeutic alliance between clinicians and clients.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Active, unrestricted clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD/PsyD in Psychology).
  • Deep expertise in multiple Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ACT, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and adherence to clinical documentation standards.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical assessment tools (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5) and their application.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA) and state-specific mental health regulations.
  • Experience in clinical program development, curriculum design, and implementation.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 5-10 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a direct care role.

Experience working within corporate wellness, health-tech, or managed care environments is a significant asset. A proven track record of developing and delivering clinical training is also highly desirable.
