Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design and execute sophisticated statistical analyses using R, Python, or SPSS to rigorously evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of various therapeutic programs and interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive and systematic literature reviews of scientific journals to synthesize existing evidence, identify critical knowledge gaps, and inform the design of new research protocols.
- Develop, manage, and maintain large, complex datasets containing sensitive information from clinical trials, patient-reported outcomes (PROs), and electronic health records (EHR).
- Author and prepare detailed research reports, data summaries, and scientific manuscripts for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations and posters summarizing key research findings for internal stakeholders and at national and international scientific conferences.
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate complex research insights into actionable product features and clinical best practices.
- Ensure the highest standards of data integrity and quality by developing and implementing rigorous data cleaning, validation, and quality control procedures.
- Perform advanced statistical modeling, including but not limited to regression analysis, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, and mixed-effects models, to uncover factors influencing treatment outcomes.
- Extract, transform, and manipulate large volumes of data from disparate sources using SQL and other data querying tools to create analysis-ready datasets.
- Develop and maintain interactive data visualization dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate complex trends and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide crucial analytical support for ongoing quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives aimed at enhancing the standard and consistency of patient care.
- Translate complex statistical concepts and research findings into clear, accessible language for diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership and clinical staff.
- Manage research project timelines, milestones, and deliverables from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and align with strategic goals.
- Meticulously document all research methodologies, data analysis plans, and code to ensure the reproducibility, transparency, and defensibility of our research.
- Analyze unstructured qualitative data from patient surveys, interviews, or focus groups to provide rich, contextual insights that complement quantitative findings.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in the preparation and writing of grant proposals and funding applications to secure external research funding.
- Contribute to the ethical oversight of research by preparing, submitting, and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, amendments, and continuing reviews.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements, methodologies, and technologies in mental health research, clinical data science, and statistical analysis.
- Perform statistical power analyses and sample size calculations to ensure future studies are adequately powered to detect meaningful effects.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced proficiency in at least one statistical programming language such as R, Python (with libraries like Pandas, SciPy, StatsModels), or SAS.
- Strong experience with statistical software packages like SPSS or Stata.
- Expertise in SQL for complex data extraction, transformation, and database management from relational databases.
- Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, R Shiny) to create insightful dashboards and reports.
