Primary Functions

- Monitor machine operation closely, listening for signs of tool wear or malfunction, and make necessary adjustments to offsets or tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and superior surface finish.
- Execute a variety of threading operations, including single-point threading, die threading, tapping, and thread rolling, on both internal and external part surfaces.
- Deburr and finish machined parts to remove sharp edges and meet surface finish requirements, ensuring the final product is clean and ready for the next stage of production or assembly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records, including part counts, inspection results, and machine downtime, utilizing shop floor data collection systems or manual logs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common machining issues, such as chatter, poor thread form, or tool breakage, to minimize scrap material and maximize overall productivity.
- Work proficiently with a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and exotic alloys, understanding their unique machining properties and challenges.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on threading equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure operational readiness and extend machine longevity.
- Accurately read and follow detailed work orders and process sheets to ensure all steps of the manufacturing process are completed correctly and in the proper sequence.
- Adhere strictly to all established safety protocols, including the consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organized work area (5S principles).
