Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Master, memorize, and internalize an extensive repertoire of songs from an artist's catalog, including new material, arrangements, and specific musical cues.
Execute high-caliber, technically proficient, and emotionally resonant musical performances on a nightly basis, often for extended tour legs.
Participate actively and constructively in all scheduled rehearsals, soundchecks, and musical workshops, both pre-tour and while on the road.
Collaborate closely with the Music Director and fellow band members to refine arrangements, harmonies, and dynamics to create a cohesive and powerful live show.
Maintain your primary instrument(s) and all related gear (amps, pedals, etc.) in peak condition to ensure reliability and optimal sound quality for every performance.
Adapt quickly to on-stage audibles, setlist changes, and improvisational sections as directed by the artist or Music Director.
Perform choreographed movements or staging cues with precision and consistency to contribute to the show's overall visual presentation.
Utilize and manage in-ear monitoring systems effectively to ensure accurate timing, pitch, and performance in loud stage environments.
Travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, adhering to rigorous schedules and managing personal logistics efficiently.
Uphold a high standard of professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude at all times, representing the artist and production favorably.
Execute flawless performances for televised appearances, radio broadcasts, and other high-stakes promotional events that occur during the tour.
Work proficiently with playback systems and click tracks, ensuring tight synchronization with pre-recorded elements and lighting/video cues.
Provide backing vocals and/or harmony parts as required, demonstrating strong vocal control, pitch accuracy, and the ability to blend with other singers.
Interface professionally with the technical crew, including audio engineers and backline technicians, to troubleshoot issues and ensure a smooth-running show.
Manage personal health and wellness effectively to sustain the high energy levels and physical stamina required for a demanding tour schedule.
Adhere strictly to all production schedules, call times, and travel itineraries without fail.
Contribute creatively to show arrangements, transitions, and musical moments when invited, showing a deep understanding of the artist's brand and musical identity.
Maintain a current and valid passport and be prepared to navigate various international customs and visa requirements for global travel.

Secondary Functions

Participate in promotional activities, including meet-and-greets, interviews, and photo or video shoots as required.

Contribute to creating engaging social media content for the artist or for personal channels that align with the tour's brand.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Expert-level instrumental or vocal proficiency, demonstrating mastery of technique, tone, and musicality.
Deep knowledge of music theory, harmony, and chord structures applicable to pop, rock, country, R&B, or the relevant genre.
Ability to read music notation, lead sheets, and chord charts fluently (e.g., Nashville Number System).
Proficiency with live performance technology, including in-ear monitoring systems, wireless packs, and effects pedalboards/processors.
Experience playing to a click track and working with backing tracks or a show-control system (e.g., Ableton Live).
Strong ear training skills for learning parts quickly and making real-time adjustments.
Ability to dial in and replicate specific tones from studio recordings in a live setting.
Basic knowledge of signal flow, gain staging, and troubleshooting personal musical equipment.

Educational Background

Experience Requirements

A history of performing with established, label-signed artists.
