Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design and meticulously craft unique, immersive, and culturally sensitive travel itineraries and tour packages that align with current market trends and the company's brand promise.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of new and existing destinations, including attractions, accommodations, local culture, and logistical considerations to maintain a competitive product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and promotional strategies across multiple channels (digital, print, social media) to increase destination awareness and drive bookings.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key industry stakeholders, including hotels, tour operators, transportation providers, tourism boards, and local government agencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert for specific destinations, providing detailed consultation and tailored recommendations to clients, travel agents, and internal teams.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness, high-quality service delivery, and favorable terms for the organization.
  • Create compelling and accurate descriptive content for marketing materials, including website copy, brochures, blog posts, and social media updates that capture the essence of a destination.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth, product enhancement, and strategic pivots.
  • Plan, coordinate, and sometimes lead familiarization (FAM) trips for travel agents, media, and key partners to showcase destination highlights and product offerings firsthand.
  • Manage budgets for specific tourism projects, marketing campaigns, or product development initiatives, ensuring activities are delivered within financial parameters.
  • Handle complex customer service issues and gather client feedback post-travel to continuously improve the quality of travel experiences and address any service gaps.
  • Represent the organization at national and international travel trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events to promote products and build professional connections.
  • Develop and implement sustainable and responsible tourism practices within all tour products, aiming to create a positive impact on local communities and environments.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, travel agents, or reservation teams on destination knowledge, new products, and effective sales techniques.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on tourism metrics, campaign ROI, and market insights for senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage online presence and content for assigned destinations, including ensuring accuracy on booking platforms and engaging with online travel communities.
  • Proactively identify and develop niche tourism markets, such as adventure travel, eco-tourism, culinary tours, or wellness retreats, based on emerging consumer interests.
  • Ensure all travel products and itineraries are compliant with local, national, and international travel regulations, including safety standards and visa requirements.
  • Collaborate with the public relations team to generate positive media coverage by developing story ideas and hosting journalists.
  • Perform ongoing quality control checks on all aspects of the travel experience, from booking to the on-the-ground execution, to uphold brand standards.
  • Develop crisis management protocols for assigned destinations to ensure traveler safety and business continuity in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
