Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive and detailed visual inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial structures to accurately identify evidence of pest activity, locate nesting and harborage areas, and assess the full extent of an infestation.
  • Skillfully apply a range of approved pesticides, baits, and traps in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring targeted and effective treatment while prioritizing the safety of inhabitants, pets, and the environment.
  • Methodically develop and propose customized pest management plans based on inspection findings, incorporating principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to provide long-term solutions.
  • Clearly and professionally communicate findings, proposed treatment plans, and preventative measures to clients, ensuring they understand the process and feel confident in the service provided.
  • Operate and maintain a company-provided service vehicle, managing a daily route efficiently to ensure timely and reliable service to all scheduled appointments.
  • Proactively identify and perform minor exclusion work, such as sealing cracks, gaps, and other potential entry points, to physically prevent pests from entering a structure.
  • Respond promptly to customer callbacks or concerns, troubleshooting issues and applying additional treatments as necessary to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Diligently follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe chemical handling and mixing procedures, and secure equipment storage.
  • Educate clients on conducive conditions around their property, such as moisture issues, sanitation, and landscaping, that may attract pests and advise on corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed service records for each visit, documenting treatments performed, chemicals used, pest activity observed, and recommendations provided to the client.
  • Learn to identify a wide variety of common and uncommon pests, including insects, rodents, and arachnids, along with their biology and behavior to inform treatment strategies.
  • Manage and maintain all assigned service equipment, including sprayers, dusters, and bait guns, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and in proper working order.
  • Prepare and submit all required paperwork and digital reports at the end of each workday, ensuring all service information is logged correctly for billing and compliance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to offer additional services or upgrades to clients that would benefit their property and enhance their pest protection plan.
  • Work collaboratively with sales personnel and office staff to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial contact through service completion.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required company training programs to obtain and maintain necessary state licenses and certifications for pesticide application.
  • Navigate to customer locations safely and efficiently using maps or GPS technology, managing time effectively to complete a full day's route.
  • Handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy, including dealing with clients who are distressed by pest issues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, serving as a positive representative of the company brand in the field.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new products, and evolving pest control techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
