Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and own the end-to-end localization strategy and roadmap to support the company’s global expansion and international market objectives.
- Manage the entire localization workflow for diverse content types, including UI/UX copy, marketing campaigns, legal documents, technical documentation, and customer support content.
- Build, nurture, and manage relationships with external language service providers (LSPs) and a global network of freelance translators, including negotiation of rates, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee the localization budget, providing accurate cost forecasting, tracking expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
- Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for localization, focusing on quality, turnaround time, and cost-effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and administration of localization technology, including Translation Management Systems (TMS), CAT tools, and terminology management platforms.
- Establish and enforce linguistic quality standards across all target languages, creating and maintaining comprehensive style guides, glossaries, and termbases.
- Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all localization-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and legal, to ensure localization requirements are integrated into the content and product development lifecycles.
- Drive process automation and workflow optimization initiatives to increase the efficiency, scalability, and speed of the localization process.
- Plan and manage complex, multi-language projects, ensuring simultaneous shipment of products and content across all supported locales.
