Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Accurately issue clean, complete, and properly sized uniforms to all eligible employees based on departmental specifications and presentation standards.
  • Diligently collect, sort, and count all soiled uniforms returned by employees, ensuring accurate tracking and preparation for laundry services.
  • Conduct thorough quality control inspections on all cleaned garments, identifying and segregating items that require mending, spot treatment, or replacement due to wear and tear.
  • Meticulously manage and maintain the uniform inventory system, whether manual or computerized, to ensure real-time accuracy of stock levels.
  • Execute regular inventory counts, including cycle counts and full physical inventories, to reconcile stock records and identify any discrepancies.
  • Operate standard laundry and pressing equipment safely and efficiently to process specific uniform items in-house as needed.
  • Coordinate the pickup and delivery schedule with external laundry service providers, verifying counts and quality upon return.
  • Perform basic on-the-spot repairs, such as sewing on buttons, mending small tears, or hemming trousers, to extend the life of the garments.
  • Process new hires by fitting them for their complete uniform set and creating or updating their records in the inventory system.
  • Manage the uniform check-out and return process for separating employees, ensuring all company property is collected and records are finalized.
  • Maintain the uniform and wardrobe area in a clean, organized, and secure manner to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Create and maintain accurate records for each employee, detailing the specific uniform items and sizes issued to them.
  • Assist in forecasting future uniform needs based on usage patterns, employee turnover, and upcoming new hires or departmental changes.
  • Receive and unpack new uniform shipments, verifying the contents against purchase orders and stocking items in their designated locations.
  • Prepare and package uniforms for disposal or donation once they are deemed unserviceable, following company policy.

Secondary Functions

  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their uniforms in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with department managers to communicate uniform policies and ensure compliance with brand and grooming standards.
  • Assist in the ordering process for new uniform stock and supplies by providing inventory data and recommendations to the purchasing department.
  • Support departmental cross-training efforts by sharing knowledge of uniform room procedures and systems with other team members.
  • Log and report any persistent issues with uniform quality, laundry service, or inventory discrepancies to the direct supervisor for resolution.
