Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design, develop, and optimize shaders, materials, and textures within Unreal Engine.
  • Implement and maintain visual effects (VFX) such as particle systems, post-processing, and environmental effects.
  • Collaborate with 3D artists, animators, and level designers to integrate assets into Unreal Engine efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and engine-related technical issues affecting art production.
  • Optimize assets and scenes to achieve high visual fidelity while maintaining performance targets.
  • Develop tools, scripts, and workflows to streamline asset creation and integration processes.
  • Assist in rigging, skinning, and animation implementation for characters and creatures.
  • Conduct performance profiling and optimize materials, textures, and lighting setups.
  • Ensure compatibility across multiple platforms, including PC, console, and VR/AR systems.
  • Collaborate with programmers to implement custom shaders, scripts, or engine features.
  • Maintain asset versioning and organization within the production pipeline.
  • Provide technical guidance to artists on asset creation standards and Unreal Engine best practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation for technical art processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Implement procedural content generation techniques where applicable.
