Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform patient intake and triage by promptly greeting patients, recording chief complaints, past medical history, allergies, and current medications in the EHR to prioritize care based on clinical urgency and provider protocols.

  • Perform phlebotomy efficiently and safely for laboratory specimens, following proper identification, labeling, handling, and chain-of-custody procedures for outpatient collections.
  • Acquire 12‑lead EKGs and transmit tracing results to providers with accurate patient identifiers, artifact minimization, and documentation of relevant clinical context.
  • Prepare exam rooms by stocking supplies, ensuring disposable instruments and sterile dressings are available, and turning over rooms between patients according to infection control protocols.
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including suture removal, wound cleaning and dressing, foreign body removal, splinting, and minor wound repair under supervision and standing orders.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
