Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) workshops to brainstorm, evaluate, and prioritize value improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated cost models to analyze product costs, including materials, labor, manufacturing processes, and overhead, identifying key cost drivers.
  • Conduct detailed functional analysis of products and services to ensure that essential functions are delivered at the lowest possible lifecycle cost.
  • Author and present compelling, data-driven business cases and ROI/TCO analyses to senior leadership to secure buy-in and investment for proposed changes.
  • Collaborate directly with the sales and customer success teams to quantify and articulate the unique business value of our solutions for prospective and existing clients.
  • Perform competitive product teardowns and benchmarking analysis to understand competitor costs, features, and design strategies, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with R&D, Engineering, and Product Management during the new product introduction (NPI) process to embed "Design to Value" and "Design to Cost" principles from the initial concept phase.
  • Engage with suppliers and the procurement team to identify opportunities for cost savings through negotiation, alternative materials, or manufacturing process improvements.
  • Create and manage a pipeline of value-engineering projects, tracking progress, resources, and realized savings against established targets.
  • Develop customized value realization roadmaps for strategic customers, helping them track and achieve the business outcomes promised during the sales cycle.
  • Build interactive value calculators, assessment tools, and financial models that enable the sales team to have more strategic, data-backed conversations with CFO-level executives.
  • Analyze customer usage data and industry trends to proactively identify opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling by demonstrating untapped value potential.
  • Champion a culture of value and cost-consciousness across the organization by training and mentoring colleagues on value engineering methodologies.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on project status, financial impact, and strategic recommendations to the C-suite and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the finance department to validate and track the financial impact of implemented value engineering initiatives, ensuring savings are accurately reflected in the P&L.
  • Translate technical specifications and product features into clear, compelling business benefits such as increased revenue, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Investigate and propose new technologies, materials, or processes that can fundamentally improve the value proposition of our product portfolio.
  • Develop standardized templates and best practices for value assessments, business case creation, and ROI modeling to be used across the organization.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of value improvement ideas, from initial ideation and vetting through to implementation, verification, and final reporting.
  • Act as the "voice of the customer" regarding value perception, feeding insights back into the product development lifecycle to ensure our roadmap aligns with market needs.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Value Engineering Methodologies (VA/VE): Deep expertise in formal value analysis and value engineering processes, including functional analysis and FAST diagramming.
  • Cost Modeling & Analysis: Proven ability to build complex, activity-based cost models from the ground up and perform "should-cost" analysis.
  • Business Case & ROI Development: Mastery in creating and articulating compelling business cases, including calculating ROI, TCO, NPV, and payback periods.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets: Expert-level proficiency in using advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, and scenario modeling for financial and data analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Visualization: Experience with SQL for querying databases and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating insightful dashboards.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
