Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, maintain, and meticulously manage the integrated master program timeline, tracking all key milestones, gateway deliverables, and cross-functional dependencies from concept to launch.
- Lead the creation and ongoing management of the overall program budget, including detailed tracking of piece cost, tooling investment, engineering R&D, and capital expenditures.
- Conduct regular variance analysis on program cost and timing, identifying deviations from the plan, investigating root causes, and recommending corrective actions to the program leadership team.
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings to drive alignment, resolve issues, and ensure seamless communication between Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing departments.
- Proactively identify, assess, and document program risks and opportunities, developing robust mitigation plans and contingency strategies to safeguard program objectives.
- Manage and track the engineering change management process, analyzing the impact of proposed changes on vehicle cost, timing, mass, and performance.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive program status reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations for senior leadership reviews and governance meetings.
- Act as the central point of contact for all program-related data, ensuring data integrity and providing ad-hoc analytical support to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to monitor supplier readiness, tooling development, and part availability to support pre-production and prototype vehicle builds.
- Support the vehicle build phases by tracking part readiness, managing issue resolution, and ensuring vehicles are built to the correct specification and quality level.
- Analyze and track program profitability metrics, including contribution margin and ROI, throughout the vehicle development process.
- Lead specific workstreams or sub-projects within the larger vehicle program, taking ownership of deliverables and driving them to completion.
- Champion the use of program management best practices and tools, contributing to the continuous improvement of the product development process.
- Interface with global counterparts on joint programs to ensure alignment on timing, technical specifications, and regional requirements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the program, including quality metrics (e.g., R/1000), mass targets, and feature content delivery.
- Coordinate program-level activities related to regulatory compliance and vehicle homologation, ensuring all requirements are tracked and met.
- Develop and maintain a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) cost roll-up, working closely with engineering and purchasing to ensure cost target achievement.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, fishbone diagrams) to address critical program roadblocks.
- Manage the allocation and tracking of physical assets, such as prototype vehicles and test properties, ensuring efficient utilization.
- Synthesize large, complex datasets from multiple sources into clear, concise, and actionable insights for program leadership.
- Serve as the program's historian, documenting key decisions, lessons learned, and rationale to inform future vehicle programs.
