Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive, vehicle-level test and validation strategies that align with program milestones, technical specifications, and corporate quality objectives.

- Direct the planning and execution of all vehicle testing activities, including durability, performance, environmental, safety, software, and full-vehicle validation on proving grounds, public roads, and in lab environments.
- Manage the departmental budget, including forecasting for capital expenditures on test equipment, instrumentation, facilities, and external testing services.
- Establish and enforce rigorous safety protocols for all testing activities, particularly concerning prototype vehicles, high-voltage systems (EVs), and on-road evaluations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and technical authority for all matters related to vehicle testing, interfacing directly with executive leadership, program management, and chief engineers.
- Oversee the creation and approval of detailed Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), ensuring complete test coverage for all vehicle systems and subsystems.
- Analyze and interpret complex test data to identify root causes of failures, performance deviations, and potential quality issues, driving them to resolution with the appropriate engineering teams.
- Author and present detailed, executive-level summaries and technical reports on testing status, critical findings, and vehicle readiness assessments to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with design, simulation, and systems engineering teams to provide continuous feedback from physical testing, influencing future designs and reducing development cycles.
- Manage the procurement, commissioning, and maintenance of all vehicle test fleet assets, advanced data acquisition (DAQ) systems, and lab equipment.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the testing department, such as test completion rates, issue discovery rates, and budget adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the testing department by identifying and implementing new methodologies, technologies, and process efficiencies.
