Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Manage and meticulously maintain our deal flow pipeline using CRM systems (e.g., Affinity, Airtable), ensuring all data on prospective investments is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for inbound investment opportunities, conducting initial screenings and evaluations to identify high-potential startups for the investment team.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging industry trends, disruptive technologies, and promising investment sectors.
  • Coordinate and manage complex scheduling for the investment team, including meetings with founders, co-investors, Limited Partners (LPs), and other key ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of all due diligence materials, including managing data rooms, reviewing financial models, and coordinating reference checks with industry experts.
  • Support the creation of detailed investment memos, compelling presentations, and internal reports for weekly pipeline reviews and Investment Committee meetings.
  • Act as a key liaison for the firm, professionally handling inbound inquiries from entrepreneurs, service providers, and potential partners.
  • Maintain and continuously enrich the firm's central contact database and network map, tracking relationships and ensuring data integrity.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute firm-hosted events, including annual LP meetings, portfolio company summits, community meetups, and industry networking functions.
  • Provide high-level operational and administrative support to the partners and investment professionals, including complex travel arrangements and expense management.
  • Track, gather, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics from our portfolio companies on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, accelerators, university programs, and other venture capital firms to cultivate a high-quality, proprietary deal flow.
  • Prepare detailed briefing documents, company overviews, and background materials for partners ahead of critical meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Manage internal knowledge bases and databases, ensuring all research, deal documentation, and market intelligence is centrally located and easily searchable.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the investment team, our portfolio companies, and the firm’s broader professional network.
  • Monitor venture capital news, funding announcements, and market shifts to keep the team informed of the competitive landscape and potential opportunities.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new portfolio companies, connecting them with relevant internal resources, mentors, and value-add network contacts.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the content creation process for the firm's newsletter, social media presence, and blog to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end investment cycle.
  • Assist with fund administration tasks, including supporting the preparation of materials for capital calls and investor distributions.
  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • High proficiency in CRM software, particularly deal flow management tools like Affinity, Airtable, or Salesforce.
  • Expertise in using Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Strong experience with market research and data platforms such as PitchBook, Crunchbase, CB Insights, and Mattermark.
  • Foundational understanding of financial concepts; basic financial modeling experience in Excel is a significant plus.
  • Experience in project management and event coordination, utilizing tools like Asana, Trello, or Notion.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of professional experience in a relevant, fast-paced setting.

A demonstrated, active interest in the tech and startup community (e.g., through personal projects, volunteering, or event participation) is a significant plus.
