Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-platform video content strategy that aligns with brand objectives, marketing campaigns, and audience growth targets.
  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and creative direction of all video projects, ensuring a consistent brand voice, tone, and aesthetic across all outputs.
  • Oversee the end-to-end video production lifecycle, from ideation, scripting, and storyboarding to shooting, editing, motion graphics, and final asset delivery.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of in-house and freelance videographers, editors, producers, and motion graphics artists, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Establish and enforce best-in-class production standards, workflows, and processes to optimize for quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Direct and manage the content calendar for all video-related outputs, ensuring a steady stream of engaging content for social media, websites, ad campaigns, and internal communications.
  • Serve as the primary director on key video shoots, providing clear creative guidance to talent and crew to bring the vision to life.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, social media, product, and sales teams to ensure video content is fully integrated into broader campaigns and meets cross-functional needs.
  • Stay at the forefront of video trends, platform algorithm changes (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels), and emerging technologies to keep our content fresh, relevant, and effective.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for video content and utilize analytics tools to track, analyze, and report on performance, using data-driven insights to inform future strategy.
  • Manage the video production budget, including resource allocation, vendor negotiation, equipment acquisition, and freelance expenditures, ensuring projects are delivered on budget.
  • Lead creative brainstorming and concepting sessions, pitching innovative video ideas that push the brand's storytelling capabilities.
  • Direct talent, both internal stakeholders and external actors/influencers, to ensure authentic, high-quality performances that resonate with our target audience.
  • Own the brand’s YouTube channel strategy, including programming, optimization (SEO), audience growth, and community engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust library of evergreen and modular video assets that can be repurposed for various marketing needs.
  • Ensure all video content complies with legal guidelines, copyright laws, and brand standards.
  • Build and manage a network of freelance creatives, production houses, and agency partners to augment in-house capabilities as needed.
  • Translate complex product features, company missions, and abstract concepts into simple, emotionally resonant video narratives.
  • Oversee post-production workflows, providing constructive feedback on edits, color grading, sound design, and motion graphics to ensure the final product meets the creative vision.
  • Spearhead the development of new, scalable video formats and series that can become signature content for the brand.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expertise in Video Production: Deep, hands-on knowledge of the entire production process, including professional cameras (DSLR, Cinema), lighting setups, and audio recording.
  • Video Editing Software: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Strong working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and Media Encoder.
  • Video SEO & Platform Management: Proven experience in optimizing content for platforms like YouTube, including keyword research, metadata, and analytics.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to use analytics tools (e.g., YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, social media insights) to interpret performance data and make strategic decisions.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 8-12+ years of experience in video production and content creation.

Preferred:

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role, directly overseeing a team of creative professionals.
  • A strong, impressive portfolio showcasing a wide range of high-quality, narrative-driven video work for notable brands.
  • Demonstrated success in growing and managing a branded YouTube channel or major social video presence.
  • Experience working within an in-house creative department or at a creative/advertising agency is highly desirable.
