More than a project manager, they are the linchpin connecting the creative ambitions of the development team with the business goals of the studio and the desires of the players. They are the conductor of the orchestra, ensuring that the artists, designers, engineers, marketers, and community teams are all playing in harmony to create, launch, and operate a successful and engaging game.

This role is fundamentally about ownership. You'll be responsible for the game's overall health, from its initial concept and P&L to its long-term live operations strategy. Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, champion, and continuously evolve the overall product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap for the game, ensuring it aligns with studio goals and market opportunities.
  • Lead the entire game lifecycle from concept and pre-production through launch, live operations, and eventual sunsetting, ensuring quality standards and delivery deadlines are met.
  • Define and meticulously track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as retention, engagement, monetization (ARPPU, LTV), and virality to measure game health and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Oversee the creation and management of the project budget, timeline, and resource allocation, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to prevent delays and cost overruns.
  • Act as the central communication hub, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including design, art, engineering, QA, marketing, and community to ensure a cohesive and unified development process.
  • Own the game's P&L, regularly reporting on financial performance, user acquisition effectiveness, and key business metrics to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the live operations calendar, meticulously planning and executing in-game events, promotions, content updates, and sales to maintain high player engagement and maximize revenue.
  • Translate high-level strategic goals into detailed feature specifications, user stories, and actionable tasks for the development team, prioritizing the backlog to maximize player and business value.
  • Act as the primary stakeholder and decision-maker for the game, balancing creative ambition with business objectives, player feedback, and technical feasibility.
  • Drive the A/B testing framework and experimentation process to rigorously test hypotheses and optimize game features, economy balance, user funnels, and first-time user experience.
