Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Assemble and expertly edit raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, music, and graphics into a polished final product that aligns with the creative vision and project objectives.
  • Perform advanced color correction and color grading to establish a consistent visual tone and mood that enhances the narrative and maintains brand consistency across all video content.
  • Manage all aspects of audio post-production, including cleaning and mixing audio, dialogue editing, sound design, and mastering levels for various output formats.
  • Conceptualize and integrate compelling motion graphics, titles, and visual effects to elevate the production value and improve viewer engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with creative directors, producers, marketers, and other stakeholders from pre-production through final delivery to ensure a cohesive and effective end product.
  • Organize, log, and manage a vast library of digital assets, including raw footage, project files, b-roll, and final exports, using a systematic and robust media management workflow.
  • Ingest and transcode various media formats from different cameras and sources, ensuring all footage is properly prepared for the post-production pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of project goals, key messaging, and target audience by reviewing and interpreting creative briefs and scripts.
  • Create multiple versions and cut-downs of video content, specifically optimized for different distribution channels like social media (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), websites, and internal platforms.
  • Skillfully incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders through various revision rounds, maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to creative changes.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging post-production techniques, new software/plugins, and evolving video formats to continually innovate and improve our creative output.
  • Source, select, and license appropriate royalty-free music, stock footage, and sound effects that complement the visual story and adhere to budget and legal guidelines.
  • Execute thorough quality control checks on all final deliverables to ensure they are free of technical errors and meet the highest standards for visual and audio quality.
  • Develop and manage detailed post-production schedules and workflows, ensuring all project milestones and final deadlines are consistently met.
  • Provide creative and technical input during the pre-production and production phases to anticipate and solve potential post-production challenges.

Secondary Functions

  • Archive completed projects and their associated assets in an organized manner, ensuring they are easily retrievable for future use or reference.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to editing software, hardware configurations, and network-attached storage systems.
  • Assist in maintaining and recommending upgrades for post-production hardware, software, and other editing bay equipment.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas for new video concepts, series, and storytelling approaches.
  • Create and maintain templates and presets for recurring video projects to increase efficiency and ensure brand consistency.
  • Mentor junior editors or interns, providing guidance on editing techniques, workflow best practices, and creative feedback.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expert Proficiency in NLE Software: Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro is essential, with strong experience in multi-cam sequences, proxy workflows, and project management.
  • Motion Graphics & Compositing: Advanced skills in Adobe After Effects for creating custom motion graphics, text animations, and basic visual effects.
  • Color Correction & Grading: Deep understanding of color theory and practical expertise using tools like Lumetri Color in Premiere Pro or dedicated software like DaVinci Resolve.
  • Audio Engineering & Mixing: Proficiency in editing, mixing, and mastering audio within an NLE or using Adobe Audition, including noise reduction and sound design.
  • Media Management: Disciplined approach to organizing and managing large volumes of media files, using tools and established workflows for asset management.
  • Compression & Codecs: Comprehensive knowledge of video codecs, containers, bit rates, and export settings for various delivery platforms (web, social, broadcast).
  • Graphic Design Fundamentals: A solid foundation in design principles with experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create or manipulate graphic assets for video.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, demonstrated through a strong professional portfolio.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 3-7 years of professional experience in a video post-production environment.

Preferred:

  • A strong, diverse portfolio is paramount and should showcase a range of projects (e.g., promotional/marketing content, social media shorts, corporate storytelling, testimonials). Experience working within a corporate marketing team or a creative agency is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience managing a project from raw media intake to final delivery is required.
