Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Execute the implementation of all visual merchandising directives, including detailed floor sets, fixture placements, and product positioning, according to company planograms and guidelines.
  • Style and dress mannequins and bust forms in alignment with seasonal trends, key product focuses, and brand storytelling to create inspirational looks for customers.
  • Assist in the conceptualization, preparation, and installation of captivating window displays and in-store focal points that attract customers and communicate promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain impeccable visual standards throughout the store on a daily basis, including folding, sizing, and ensuring product presentation is neat, accessible, and appealing.
  • Collaborate with the store management and sales teams to understand product performance and adjust visual presentations to highlight best-sellers and slow-moving items.
  • Manage and organize the visual merchandising back-of-house storage, ensuring all props, fixtures, signage, and mannequins are well-maintained and accounted for.
  • Support the execution of in-store marketing initiatives by properly placing and maintaining signage, graphics, and other promotional materials.
  • Participate in overnight or early morning floor set implementations, requiring flexibility in work hours to minimize disruption to store operations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, demonstrating a deep understanding of the brand's aesthetic and effectively communicating it through all visual touchpoints.
  • Conduct regular store walks to identify and address any visual inconsistencies or maintenance issues, ensuring the store consistently meets brand standards.
  • Photograph completed visual setups for company archives, store communication, and regional manager review to ensure consistency across locations.
  • Unpack, process, and prepare new merchandise for the sales floor, ensuring it is presented in a way that is visually compelling from the moment it arrives.
  • Provide feedback to the Visual Manager or corporate team on the effectiveness of visual strategies and the practicalities of implementing directives at the store level.
  • Train and educate store associates on basic visual merchandising principles to empower them to help maintain standards throughout the day.
  • Assist in adapting corporate visual merchandising concepts to fit the unique layout and architectural features of a specific store location.
  • Research and stay current with emerging trends in fashion, retail design, and visual merchandising to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the team.
  • Support the planning and execution of in-store events, ensuring the visual presentation aligns with the event's theme and objectives.
  • Manage the inventory of visual supplies and props, placing orders as needed to ensure the team is always equipped for upcoming installations.
  • Ensure all visual displays and fixtures are clean, safe, and in good working order, performing minor repairs or reporting issues as necessary.
  • Build and assemble new fixtures and props as they are delivered, following instructions to ensure they are constructed correctly and safely.

  • Styling: Strong ability to style mannequins and products in a visually appealing and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Visual Acuity: A strong eye for detail, color, composition, and spatial arrangement.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Basic knowledge of Photoshop or InDesign for minor graphic or signage adjustments is a plus.
  • Hand and Power Tools: Competency in using basic tools for fixture assembly and display installation.
  • Retail Math: Understanding of sales data, sell-through rates, and how they inform merchandising decisions.
