Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of visual content creators, including graphic designers, videographers, and photographers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end visual content production lifecycle, from initial concept and storyboarding through to shooting, editing, post-production, and final asset delivery.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce comprehensive brand visual guidelines to ensure a cohesive, consistent, and recognizable brand identity across all digital and print platforms.
  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking visual content strategy that directly supports marketing campaigns, product launches, and overall business objectives.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and decisive creative direction on all visual projects, ensuring the final output is of the highest quality and aligns with the creative brief.
  • Manage the visual content calendar, project pipelines, and team workload, utilizing project management tools to ensure all deadlines are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional partners (Marketing, Social Media, Product, Sales), translating their strategic needs into actionable creative briefs and visual solutions.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of photo and video shoots, including pre-production planning, location scouting, talent sourcing, on-set direction, and post-production oversight.
  • Stay at the forefront of visual trends, social media platform changes, design innovations, and emerging technologies to consistently push the brand's creative boundaries.
  • Analyze the performance of visual content using key metrics (e.g., engagement rates, click-through rates, conversion) and leverage data-driven insights to refine and optimize future creative strategies.
  • Manage the departmental budget for visual content creation, including freelance talent, agency partners, software subscriptions, and equipment procurement.
  • Develop and maintain a sophisticated Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure all creative assets are properly organized, archived, tagged, and readily accessible for stakeholders.
  • Source, vet, and manage relationships with external creative resources, such as freelance artists, production companies, and stock asset providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for new members of the creative team, building a high-performing and diverse group of talent.
  • Conceptualize and pitch original visual ideas for major brand campaigns, content series, and social media initiatives that capture attention and drive conversation.

Secondary Functions

  • Partner with the legal and compliance teams to ensure all visual assets adhere to copyright laws, usage rights, licensing agreements, and accessibility standards.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations on creative strategy, project status, and team performance to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular creative reviews, team critiques, and inspirational workshops to elevate the overall quality of work and foster professional growth within the team.
  • Advise on the evaluation and implementation of new creative software, tools, and workflows to enhance team efficiency and production capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to ensure visual consistency and a seamless brand experience between marketing materials and the core product or website.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expert-level proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
  • Deep understanding of the principles of photography, videography, and motion graphics, including lighting, composition, color grading, and audio editing.
  • Hands-on experience with modern Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms for organizing and distributing creative content.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or Jira to manage complex workflows and team capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of visual specifications, formats, and best practices for various digital channels, including social media (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), web, email, and paid advertising.
  • A sophisticated understanding of typography, color theory, layout principles, and brand system implementation.
  • Experience with camera and lighting equipment for both photo and video production.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in a creative field such as graphic design, videography, or art direction.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years of direct experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing creative professionals and overseeing a high volume of content production. Experience within an in-house creative team or agency is highly valued.
