Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive portfolio of vocational training programs that align with current labor market demands and the needs of the target population.
  • Lead the full program lifecycle, from initial concept and curriculum design through to participant recruitment, program execution, and post-graduation follow-up.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and directly supervise a team of instructors, case managers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and mission-driven culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, and facilitate professional development opportunities for the vocational team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with local employers, industry associations, and chambers of commerce to identify employment opportunities and create a robust pipeline for program graduates.
  • Manage departmental budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, ensuring adherence to financial policies, and maximizing resource allocation for optimal program impact.
  • Oversee data collection, management, and analysis related to participant demographics, attendance, progress, and employment outcomes, utilizing CRM or similar database systems.
  • Prepare and submit detailed, accurate, and timely reports for internal stakeholders, funders, and government agencies, ensuring full compliance with all grant and contract requirements.
  • Lead the curriculum development and review process, ensuring all training materials are up-to-date, engaging, and reflective of industry standards and best practices.
  • Establish and enforce program policies and procedures to ensure a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for all participants.
  • Conduct ongoing community needs assessments and labor market analysis to identify emerging industries and in-demand skills, ensuring program relevance and sustainability.
  • Design and implement effective participant recruitment and outreach strategies in collaboration with community partners, schools, and social service agencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employer partners, coordinating guest speakers, site visits, mock interviews, and hiring events to connect participants with real-world opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all vocational programs through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as completion rates, certification attainment, job placement rates, and wage progression.
  • Manage the physical and technological resources of the training center, including classrooms, computer labs, and specialized equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and accessible.
  • Provide direct support and crisis intervention for participants facing significant barriers to employment, connecting them with appropriate internal or external resources.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to contribute to the organization's strategic planning, program expansion, and long-term vision.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, industry conferences, and public forums to advocate for workforce development and build brand visibility.
  • Ensure all program activities adhere to legal, ethical, and organizational standards, including confidentiality and health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage an alumni engagement strategy to provide ongoing support and track long-term career progression for program graduates.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
