Core Responsibilities

Primary Instructional & Mentoring Functions

  • Design, develop, and continuously update comprehensive vocational training curricula and learning materials tailored to specific industry needs and learner profiles.
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions, workshops, and practical demonstrations using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning.
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments to identify learners' existing skills, learning needs, career aspirations, and potential barriers to employment.
  • Develop individualized learning and career development plans for each participant, setting clear, achievable goals and meticulously tracking progress over time.
  • Provide consistent one-on-one mentoring, coaching, and career guidance to support learners throughout their training journey and job search process.
  • Create and administer a range of formative and summative assessments, including practical evaluations and knowledge-based tests, to measure learning outcomes and skill acquisition.
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of training programs by systematically gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative feedback from learners, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate dedicated work-readiness modules covering essential employability skills such as professional communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management.
  • Proactively build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local employers, industry partners, and community organizations to facilitate work placements, internships, and direct job opportunities for graduates.
  • Stay current with evolving industry trends, local labor market demands, and emerging technologies to ensure all training programs remain relevant, competitive, and effective.
  • Adapt instructional methods, pace, and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds within the trainee group, ensuring an inclusive environment.
  • Expertly manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
  • Provide timely, clear, and constructive feedback to learners on their performance and progress, helping them to identify areas for improvement and build self-confidence.
  • Organize and coordinate guest speakers from the industry, employer site visits, and other experiential learning activities to enrich the training experience and connect theory to practice.
  • Guide and assist participants with the practical aspects of their job search, including professional resume writing, compelling cover letter creation, and mock interview preparation.

Program Support & Administration

  • Maintain highly accurate and confidential records of participant attendance, progress, assessment results, and post-training outcomes using the organization's database or Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Prepare and submit regular, detailed progress reports to program managers and funding bodies, clearly outlining key performance indicators, program milestones, and participant successes.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings to collaborate with colleagues (such as case managers and job developers) on providing holistic, wraparound support to participants.
  • Contribute vital data, program insights, and success stories to the development of grant proposals and funding applications to ensure program sustainability and growth.
  • Manage training budgets, resources, and materials, ensuring the efficient use of allocated funds and the proper maintenance of all training equipment and facilities.
  • Professionally represent the organization at community events, industry panels, job fairs, and professional networking functions to promote training programs and recruit potential participants.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by attending workshops, pursuing certifications, and engaging with industry literature to continuously enhance personal training and coaching expertise.
