Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive training needs analyses by collaborating with industry partners, local businesses, and community stakeholders to identify critical skill gaps and emerging workforce requirements.
  • Design, develop, and update competency-based vocational curricula, including lesson plans, instructional materials, hands-on lab exercises, and assessment tools for a diverse range of learners.
  • Plan the complete training program lifecycle, from initial concept and resource allocation through to scheduling, execution, and post-program evaluation to ensure objectives are met.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects for training delivery, including securing and preparing training facilities, procuring necessary tools and equipment, and managing class schedules.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and manage a pool of qualified instructors, subject matter experts, and guest facilitators, ensuring high-quality instructional delivery.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, meticulously tracking all expenditures, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility and adherence to funding guidelines.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with employers, government workforce agencies, educational institutions, and community-based organizations to create robust career pathways for graduates.
  • Monitor training sessions to provide constructive feedback to instructors, ensure participant engagement, and confirm that the curriculum is being delivered as intended and is meeting student needs.
  • Design and implement comprehensive evaluation strategies to measure training effectiveness, including participant satisfaction surveys, pre/post-assessments, and long-term tracking of employment outcomes.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all training activities, including participant demographics, attendance, progress, certifications awarded, and job placement data for reporting and compliance.
  • Ensure all programs, curricula, and facilities strictly adhere to relevant industry standards, accreditation requirements, and state/federal regulations (e.g., WIOA, OSHA).
  • Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies to promote training programs to potential students and referral partners, driving enrollment and program visibility.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to students, including career coaching, resume building, interview preparation, and connecting program graduates with active employment opportunities.
  • Continuously research and integrate industry best practices, new technologies, and adult learning theories to enhance the relevance and impact of all training programs.
  • Lead or support the grant application process by identifying funding opportunities, writing compelling proposals, and managing reporting for all grant-funded initiatives.
  • Facilitate "Train-the-Trainer" workshops to equip instructors with effective pedagogical techniques, classroom management skills, and an understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and administration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to support blended and online learning.
  • Create a variety of assessment tools, including practical performance evaluations, written examinations, and project-based rubrics to accurately measure skill acquisition.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters student motivation, persistence, and overall success.
  • Act as the central point of communication between students, instructors, employers, and internal departments to ensure seamless program operation and stakeholder alignment.
