Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Provide direct, individualized, and small-group support to learners, reinforcing lessons and practical skills introduced by the lead tutor.
  • Assist in the preparation, organization, and distribution of all learning materials, tools, equipment, and resources required for daily instruction.
  • Actively participate in classroom and workshop sessions, circulating the room to offer guidance, answer questions, and ensure learners remain on task and engaged.
  • Help adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with learning disabilities, language barriers, or other challenges.
  • Monitor, document, and report on learner attendance, progress, and performance using established tracking systems and learning management software.

  • Support the lead tutor in demonstrating complex practical techniques and vocational tasks, ensuring safety protocols are understood and followed at all times.

  • Assist in managing classroom dynamics and behavior, proactively addressing minor issues and implementing established behavior management strategies.

  • Perform essential administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, and data entry to ensure smooth program operations and accurate record-keeping.
  • Participate actively in departmental and cross-functional team meetings, contributing insights on student progress and collaborating on program improvements.
  • Assist in community outreach and recruitment events to promote vocational programs to potential learners, families, and community partners.
  • Contribute to the regular inventory, maintenance, and ordering of tools, equipment, and consumable supplies for the program.
