Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate a comprehensive, organization-wide volunteer engagement strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
- Lead the full lifecycle of volunteer management, including architecting innovative recruitment campaigns, creating streamlined screening and onboarding processes, and ensuring effective training and placement.

- Manage and maintain the volunteer management database (e.g., Volgistics, Better Impact, Salesforce), ensuring the highest level of data integrity for volunteer hours, schedules, skills, and contact information.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and gathering qualitative feedback to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.
- Prepare and present regular, data-rich reports on volunteer program metrics—including recruitment sources, retention rates, hours served, and calculated program value—to the leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the volunteer department, ensuring fiscally responsible allocation of resources for recruitment, technology, training, and recognition initiatives.
- Ensure all volunteer-related activities are in compliance with organizational policies, local and federal regulations, and industry best practices for non-profit risk management.
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and collaborative organizational culture that values the immense contributions of volunteers and seamlessly integrates them into the fabric of our team.
