Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive research project plans, defining scope, methodologies, timelines, and key deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Oversee the entire research lifecycle, from conceptualization and literature review to study design, IRB/ethics submissions, data collection, analysis, and final report dissemination.
  • Design and implement a robust volunteer recruitment strategy to attract, screen, and onboard a diverse and skilled team of research volunteers.
  • Create and deliver engaging training programs and materials to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge for their specific research tasks, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Provide continuous supervision, mentorship, and constructive feedback to research volunteers, fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and retention.
  • Ensure all research activities strictly adhere to ethical principles, institutional review board (IRB) protocols, and data privacy regulations like GDPR or HIPAA.
  • Manage the day-to-day logistics of research projects, including scheduling volunteer shifts, coordinating with research participants, and managing study-related resources.
  • Lead the data collection process, implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the data gathered by volunteers.
  • Conduct preliminary quantitative and qualitative data analysis using appropriate statistical software and tools to identify trends and initial findings.
  • Author, co-author, and edit research summaries, white papers, formal reports, and manuscripts for both internal stakeholders and potential external publications.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations on research methodologies and findings to a variety of audiences, including staff, leadership, funders, and community partners.
