Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Receive inbound shipments, verify packing lists and purchase order quantities, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and accurately record receiving details in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP such as SAP to maintain up-to-date inventory records.

- Stage and load orders for shipment by coordinating with dock personnel, verifying carrier manifests, and following safe lifting and load securement practices to ensure timely carrier departures.
- Cycle count and participate in full inventory audits, reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records, investigate root causes, and support corrective action plans to improve inventory accuracy.
- Monitor daily KPIs including picks per hour, lines per hour, on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, and dock-to-stock time; report findings and support process improvements to meet performance targets.
- Follow and enforce warehouse safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO) basics, material handling protocols, and emergency response procedures; report hazards and near-misses immediately.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and basic forklifts under supervision (where certified) while adhering to OSHA and site-specific safety policies.
- Assist in labeling, repackaging, kitting and value-added services such as light assembly and returns processing to support e-commerce and retail fulfillment operations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including inbound planning, customer service, transportation and procurement to resolve order exceptions, expedite critical shipments, and support communication with internal stakeholders.

- Support cycle count programs and reconciliation projects by preparing inventory locations, conducting physical counts, and documenting discrepancies and corrective actions using established templates and system tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized and compliant work environment by performing routine housekeeping tasks, replenishing pick locations, and ensuring all materials are stored according to MSDS and hazardous material guidelines if applicable.
- Assist with data entry and recordkeeping in WMS/ERP systems, ensuring accurate logging of receipts, transfers, adjustments and shipping confirmations to preserve audit trails and support traceability.
- Shadow and learn from warehouse leads and supervisors to develop competency in labor planning, slotting strategies, and throughput optimization while contributing to daily operational planning and shift huddles.
- Support seasonal or peak operations by flexing to different warehouse functions, working extended hours when required, and training in multiple work cells to maintain service levels during high-volume periods.
- Engage in quality control checks, including verifying product counts, expiration dates, lot numbers and packaging integrity, and escalating quality issues to supervisors for disposition decisions.
- Assist with basic staging and coordination for vendor pickups and carrier interactions, including preparing pallets to carrier specs and ensuring correct documentation accompanies outbound loads.
- Document process deviations and contribute to corrective action tracking by using incident reporting tools and participating in follow-up root cause analysis sessions.
- Train and mentor temporary or new team members on core tasks and safe work practices under the guidance of a supervisor to help maintain consistent performance and quality standards.
