- Load and unload delivery vehicles and containers, securing loads on pallets and ensuring safe stacking and distribution to prevent damage during transit and storage, while meeting carrier and workplace safety requirements.
- Conduct routine stock counts, cycle counts and full inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and WMS records, escalating variances to inventory control or management with documented findings.
- Label, barcode and tag products and pallets correctly, ensuring SKU integrity, accurate labelling for storage locations and compliance with customer and regulatory packaging standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP, including goods received notes, dispatch records, stock movements and adjustments to preserve traceability and support reporting.
- Prepare, pack and stage orders for despatch, including protective packaging, palletising, shrink-wrapping and applying courier or pallet labels to meet carrier requirements and minimise transit damage and returns.
- Follow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), health & safety policies and COSHH guidelines, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to create a safe warehouse environment and reduce workplace incidents.
- Prioritise urgent orders and time-sensitive shipments, coordinating with transport teams and customer service to meet cut-off times, special handling instructions and accelerated delivery requests.
- Identify, report and quarantine damaged or non-conforming product, liaising with quality control and returns processing to ensure appropriate resolution and accurate returns logs.

- Use handheld RF scanners, tablets or desktop terminals to update stock movements, complete scan confirmations and troubleshoot scanning errors to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with transport, customer service and production teams to coordinate special projects, seasonal volume changes and ad-hoc shipment requests while maintaining SLA performance.
- Maintain warehouse orderliness by sweeping aisles, removing debris, stacking pallets safely and ensuring emergency exits, fire routes and spill kits are unobstructed.
- Adhere to security procedures including stock sign-in/sign-out, access control and CCTV monitoring cooperation to prevent theft and protect high-value inventory.
- Execute basic light maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report faults promptly to the maintenance team to minimise downtime and ensure equipment safety.
- Support training and onboarding of new warehouse operatives by demonstrating standard processes and safe equipment operation, contributing to a consistent, high-performing team.
