  • Lead capacity planning and labor modeling initiatives including workload profiling, peak planning, headcount forecasts, and utilization analysis to align staffing, scheduling, and OT budgets with service level targets.
  • Collaborate with WMS and IT teams to translate process requirements into system configurations, workflows, picking strategies, transport rules, and automation logic; test and validate WMS releases, patches and process changes in UAT and production environments.
  • Drive slotting optimization and product flow rationalization using ABC/XYZ analysis and pick density modeling to reduce travel, improve picker efficiency and increase cube utilization across racking and mezzanine systems.
  • Design and validate picking methodologies (zone, wave, batch, cluster, pick-to-light, voice picking, RF handheld workflows) and packing standards that reduce touches, speed fulfillment and improve order accuracy for B2B, B2C and omni-channel flows.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, Pareto) and implement corrective action plans for recurring exceptions such as inaccurate counts, mis-picks, damaged goods, late shipments and system mismatches.
  • Partner with procurement, receiving supervision and vendors to implement receiving best practices, ASN validation, quality hold procedures and dock scheduling improvements that reduce receiving cycle time and expedite put-away.
  • Lead pilot testing and implementation of automation technologies and robotics (AMRs, conveyors, sortation, ASRS) including requirements definition, throughput analysis, ROI modeling and operational readiness planning to ensure successful scale-up.
  • Monitor and improve inventory accuracy through cycle count programs, shrink analysis, reconciliation processes and process interventions that reduce discrepancies and support accurate financial inventory reporting.
  • Create and manage operational scorecards and executive-level dashboards to provide visibility into daily operations, exception alerts, trend analysis and continuous improvement backlog prioritization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional project teams and stakeholder workshops (operations, safety, engineering, finance, customer success) to scope projects, align on requirements, set deliverables, and drive timely execution to support customer SLAs.
  • Design and implement safety-focused process changes and ergonomics improvements in the warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA, company safety policies and environmental standards while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain pick path and travel time studies, time-and-motion analyses and work measurement standards to baseline performance, set realistic productivity targets and identify opportunities for tactical improvement.
  • Manage process change communications, training rollouts and onboarding for new processes or WMS capabilities; create learning plans, train-the-trainer sessions and performance monitoring to ensure adoption and sustainment.
  • Support continuous improvement governance by maintaining project charters, benefit tracking, A3 reports and lessons learned repositories to ensure transparency, ROI realization and standardization across sites.
  • Collaborate with commercial and customer success teams to design packaging and kitting processes that reduce damage, improve packing efficiency, and meet customer packaging requirements while optimizing cost-to-serve.
  • Conduct facility layout reviews and material flow modeling to optimize slotting, staging, dock assignments and buffer sizing to reduce congestion, minimize handling and improve throughput in high-volume periods.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with 3PLs, carriers and service providers to ensure contracted SLAs are met, identify process gaps and implement performance improvement plans that drive service and cost improvements.
  • Prepare financial analyses and business cases for process changes and capital investments, including cost-benefit scenarios, payback calculations and sensitivity analyses to support prioritization and approvals.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
  • Support audit requests, operational reviews and compliance activities related to inventory and process controls.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding process improvement resources and subject matter experts for project-based initiatives.
