Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Receive inbound shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and bills of lading, inspect packaging and product condition, and document any discrepancies or damages in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately using RF scanners or handheld devices, following packing standards and carrier requirements to minimize damage and shipping errors.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers safely using pallet jacks, dock levelers, and forklifts (when certified), ensuring freight is staged correctly and secured for transport.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits, reconcile variances, update inventory records, and escalate persistent discrepancies to inventory control or management.
- Stage, label, and palletize finished goods for shipment, prepare shipping documentation including packing slips and commercial invoices, and coordinate with carriers for scheduled pickup and manifesting.
- Operate warehouse equipment (electric pallet jacks, walkie stackers, sit-down forklifts) in accordance with training and OSHA/ company safety guidelines; report maintenance issues promptly.
- Process returns (RMA), inspect returned items for damage or warranty eligibility, update return records, and route items to the appropriate disposition area (restock, repair, recycle, scrap).
- Maintain accurate documentation for receiving, put-away, transfers, and outbound shipments, ensuring traceability and audit readiness for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing goods, checking for product compliance, labeling accuracy, lot codes, and expiration dates to prevent shipping errors and recalls.
- Execute daily housekeeping tasks to keep aisles, docks, and storage areas clean, safe, and free of obstructions, and support 5S/Lean initiatives to improve warehouse organization and productivity.
- Execute prioritized pick waves and packing queues during peak periods (e.g., promotions, holidays, e-commerce surges) and meet or exceed daily productivity and accuracy targets.
- Complete put-away transactions by transporting goods from receiving to designated storage locations, optimizing bin utilization and following slotting instructions to maintain efficient retrieval.
- Assist with cross-dock operations by transferring items directly from inbound to outbound areas with minimal dwell time, coordinating with shipping teams to meet tight outbound schedules.
- Follow and enforce company safety policies, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), participate in toolbox talks and safety training, and report near-misses and hazards immediately.
- Support loading optimization by using loading plans, verifying pallet counts, and ensuring proper weight distribution to maximize truck space and reduce transportation costs.
- Use basic computer systems to enter data, generate reports, print labels, and review work queues in WMS, TMS, or ERP systems as required for daily operations.
- Collaborate with supervisors and planners to prioritize releases, expedite late orders, and flag inventory shortages or discrepancies that could impact customer delivery dates.
- Participate in continuous improvement teams, propose process improvements to reduce touchpoints and increase throughput, and assist in implementing new procedures or technology.
- Train and mentor new hires and temporary staff on picking, packing, safety procedures, and company standards, providing feedback to leads to accelerate onboarding success.
- Manage hazardous materials handling and documentation when applicable, following DOT, OSHA, and company regulations for proper labeling, storage, and shipping practices.
- Prepare and reconcile daily shipping manifests, confirm carrier pickups, obtain signatures, and escalate missing or delayed shipments to logistics management for resolution.
- Support special projects such as inventory relocations, cycle count reconciliations, facility moves, and seasonal re-slotting to align inventory flow with business needs.
- Communicate proactively with customer service and sales teams to resolve order exceptions, shipment discrepancies, and customer claims, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with product-specific handling requirements (temperature control, fragile items, lot tracking), maintaining integrity of inventory from receipt to shipment.
Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)

Minimum Education:
