  • Perform daily replenishment of pick faces and fast-moving SKUs to maintain minimum stock levels and prevent stockouts in the assigned zone.
  • Execute routine cycle counts and targeted inventory audits in the zone, reconcile variances, investigate root causes, and submit adjustment requests per company SOPs.
  • Receive inbound goods for the zone, verify quantities and quality against manifests and purchase orders, and complete putaway to designated bin locations using correct storage methods.
  • Inspect incoming and stored product for damage, labeling errors, and quality issues, tagging and segregating nonconforming product and notifying QA or supervision immediately.
  • Load and unload trailers during shipping and receiving operations, ensuring proper pallet build, weight distribution, and compliance with carrier requirements.
  • Prepare and stage pallets for carrier pickup (LTL, TL), confirm documentation and labels are accurate, and ensure shipments meet SKU, carton count, and carrier scheduling requirements.
  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders using batch, wave, or zone picking methods; verify SKU, lot, and serial number requirements when applicable.
  • Maintain zone housekeeping and 5S standards: clear aisles, remove debris, organize bin locations, and label shelves and pallets to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Operate material handling equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, and, when certified, sit-down forklift or reach truck) safely and in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Monitor and report on daily zone KPIs such as picks per hour, accuracy rate, on-time shipping, and inventory variance; proactively suggest process improvements to supervisors.
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and ergonomic guidelines; complete safety checks of equipment and report hazards immediately.
  • Support returns processing and dispositioning by verifying RMA documentation, inspecting returned items, and routing product per return-to-stock or scrap procedures.
  • Label, re-label, and apply barcode/serial labels to cartons and pallets to ensure accurate scanning and traceability across the supply chain.
  • Perform lot and serial number tracking and FIFO/FEFO rotation in the zone to ensure product traceability and minimize obsolescence or expiry risk.
  • Assist with cross-docking and expedited shipments by staging inbound product for immediate outbound movement to reduce handling and improve lead times.
  • Participate in new product introductions and zone layout changes by validating bin assignments, picking paths, and storage configurations to optimize flow.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to report and triage equipment malfunctions in the zone (conveyors, scales, RF terminals) and provide basic troubleshooting information.
  • Train and mentor temporary staff and new hires on zone-specific procedures, safety practices, and WMS transactions to ensure consistent performance.
  • Execute corrective actions from audits and inspection reports, document remediation activities, and participate in follow-up verification to close discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with replenishment planners and buyers to flag low inventory and assist in fast-pick replenishment to meet service levels during peak cycles or promotions.
  • Maintain accurate paper and electronic documentation for inventory movements, adjustments, and disposition forms in accordance with company policies and audit readiness.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc cycle counts and participate in company-wide inventory audits to verify accuracy beyond the assigned zone when needed.
  • Cross-train across adjacent zones and functions (receiving, shipping, returns) to provide operational flexibility during high-volume periods or staffing shortages.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by documenting inefficiencies in zone workflows and proposing practical process or layout changes.
  • Assist the inventory control team with reconciliation tasks, research of discrepancies, and follow-up with root cause analysis to reduce repeat errors.
  • Participate in daily huddles and safety briefings; report observations and close gaps to strengthen the site’s safety culture.
  • Help maintain accurate SOP documentation for zone activities, providing feedback and updates based on frontline experience.
  • Support implementation of WMS or process upgrades by validating zone transactions, testing changes, and providing end-user feedback.
  • Provide timely escalation of product, equipment, or process issues to supervisors and collaborate on short-term containment and long-term corrective actions.
