Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative investment research across equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, alternatives (private equity, real assets), and structured products to support portfolio construction and advisor recommendations.
- Build, maintain, and continuously refine multi-asset-class model portfolios and bespoke client portfolios using modern portfolio theory, mean-variance optimization, scenario analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations to align with clients' time horizons and risk profiles.
- Prepare and deliver accurate, client-ready performance reports and attribution analyses on a regular cadence (monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc) that explain drivers of returns, fees, and benchmark comparisons for both advisory and discretionary accounts.
- Produce investment policy statements (IPS), asset allocation proposals, and documented investment rationales that capture client objectives, liquidity needs, tax considerations, and constraints for advisor and compliance review.
- Execute portfolio rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting recommendations, cash management, and trade instruction workflows in coordination with trading desks, custodians, and operations to ensure timely implementation and best execution.
- Monitor portfolio risk using analytics tools (value-at-risk, stress testing, concentration limits, factor exposures) and report exceptions or recommendations for risk mitigation to advisors and risk oversight committees.
- Conduct security-level due diligence including financial statement analysis, valuation modeling (DCF, relative valuation), analyst coverage synthesis, and third-party research consolidation to inform buy/sell/hold recommendations.
- Support individualized financial planning analyses such as cash-flow projections, retirement modeling, college funding, Social Security optimization, and Monte Carlo probability outcomes to help shape holistic client advice.
- Manage and update client account documentation, KYC/AML checks, suitability memos, and onboarding files to meet internal policies and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with product specialists to perform fund selection, fee analysis, and platform due diligence to ensure investment solutions meet performance, liquidity, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare materials for client meetings and periodic reviews, including slide decks, talking points, and follow-up action items that summarize performance, strategy updates, and tactical recommendations.
- Support advisor-led business development by preparing pitch books, portfolio illustrations, and competitive analysis for prospects and referral partners.
- Maintain and improve portfolio analytics and reporting infrastructure using Excel, VBA, Python, SQL, and vendor platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct) to increase automation, accuracy, and turnaround time.
- Reconcile data across custodial statements, performance engines, and CRM systems to ensure consistency between reported holdings, cost basis, and realized/unrealized gains for tax reporting and billing.
- Coordinate with tax, estate, and trust specialists to integrate tax-optimized strategies, estate planning considerations, and trust accounting into investment plans and client recommendations.
- Escalate and resolve exceptions related to trade confirmations, corporate actions, and operational breaks with custody/operations teams to protect client assets and maintain service SLAs.
- Implement and monitor ESG/sustainable investing screens, impact investing mandates, and client-directed social policies; produce reporting to demonstrate alignment with stated ESG objectives and regulatory disclosures.
- Conduct competitor and market landscape analysis to identify product gaps, tactical allocation opportunities, and potential alpha sources that can be incorporated into client solutions or advisor playbooks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes (SEC, FINRA, FCA, OECD tax rules), market structure evolution, and macroeconomic trends and advise advisors on compliance and strategy adjustments.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects (product launches, platform migrations, fee model changes) to ensure smooth rollout and adoption, documenting processes and training advisors and operations staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying manual processes for automation, standardizing reporting templates, and creating internal knowledge resources to scale the wealth management workflow.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts and paraplanners, reviewing their analysis, sign-off on deliverables, and coordinating on complex client situations.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
