Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Oversee daily website operations, including content publishing schedules, editorial workflows, user-facing QA, and incident triage to ensure pages are live, accurate and compliant with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Administer and configure the content management system (CMS), manage site templates and components, control permissions, and train editors to reduce publishing errors and improve content velocity.
  • Lead SEO strategy execution and on-page optimization: manage metadata, URL structures, internal linking, schema markup, canonicalization, and collaborate with content teams to improve organic visibility and rankings.
  • Monitor website performance metrics (page load time, Core Web Vitals, time to interactive) and implement front-end and caching optimizations in coordination with developers and CDN providers to improve user experience and search performance.
  • Implement and maintain analytics, tracking and tagging: configure Google Analytics / GA4, Google Tag Manager, event taxonomy, conversion tracking and dashboarding to ensure accurate reporting for marketing and product stakeholders.
  • Own the release and deployment process for site updates: coordinate release windows, manage staging and production environments, verify rollback plans, and validate release notes and QA checklists.
  • Conduct accessibility audits and remedial work (WCAG 2.1 AA) in partnership with designers and developers to ensure legal compliance and an inclusive user experience across devices.
  • Manage cross-functional project delivery: collect requirements from marketing, UX, product and engineering teams; translate into technical tickets; prioritize backlog items and track delivery against timelines.
  • Triage and resolve production incidents (broken pages, 404s, form failures, tracking gaps) and coordinate escalation with engineering, hosting and third-party vendors until full resolution.
  • Maintain site architecture and taxonomy governance: oversee URL conventions, page types, content models, navigation and search configurations to improve discoverability and maintainability.
  • Partner with security and IT teams to implement regular vulnerability scans, patch CMS and plugins, enforce HTTPS/secure headers and manage domain/DNS and certificate renewals.
  • Oversee A/B testing and CRO efforts: set up experiments, define success metrics, analyze results, and translate insights into prioritized product and content improvements.
  • Establish and report on KPIs for site health, content performance, organic traffic, conversion funnels and campaign attribution; deliver periodic performance reviews to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external vendors (hosting, CDNs, analytics providers, accessibility consultancies) and manage vendor SLAs, contracts and performance evaluations.
  • Build and maintain documentation for site runbooks, publishing guidelines, style guides, setup instructions, and troubleshooting playbooks to reduce single points of failure.
  • Manage image, video and media asset workflows and optimization guidelines to balance quality and page speed (compression standards, responsive images, lazy loading).
  • Implement tagging and measurement standards to support personalization, recommendation engines and retention/activation analytics.
  • Maintain version control and deployment best practices for front-end assets, liaising with developers on Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines and rollback procedures.
  • Conduct regular content audits and seasonal housekeeping to remove stale content, correct SEO issues and improve overall content quality.
  • Mentor and supervise web editors / junior web developers: set objectives, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews and identify training opportunities.
  • Coordinate localization/globalization needs: manage language-site rollouts, hreflang tags, regional redirects and content variants for international audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement by proposing and executing a roadmap of technical and content initiatives that increase conversion, reduce load times and improve search visibility.
  • Prepare and manage website operational budgets for tools, hosting, vendor services and third-party integrations; recommend cost-saving measures without degrading quality.

Educational Background
