- Coordinate with vendors (RAN, DAS, small cells, antenna suppliers) and system integrators to manage RF parameter implementation, neighbor relations, and software/hardware upgrades across multi‑vendor environments.
- Implement and maintain RF network models in planning tools (Atoll, Mentum, Planet) and GIS so that planners and stakeholders can simulate scenarios, analyze "what‑if" plans, and track KPIs over time.
- Advise on 5G features (massive MIMO, beamforming, dynamic spectrum sharing, network slicing) and their practical impact on coverage, capacity, and device experience; provide migration strategies from LTE to 5G Standalone/NSA.
- Lead optimization sprints and continuous improvement cycles; prioritize corrective actions, estimate effort and impact, and verify KPI improvements post‑implementation.
- Ensure RF designs and implementations comply with regulatory constraints, RF exposure (EMF) limits, landlord and municipal requirements, and operator standards.
- Mentor junior RF engineers and field teams on best practices for drive testing, data analysis, RF tool usage, parameter tuning, and proper documentation of changes.
- Integrate OSS/KPI analytics and data sources (e.g., MME/S1 logs, performance counters, call detail records) to generate root‑cause analyses and to design automated health checks and alerts.
- Provide pre‑sales and tender support: develop technical proposals, scope of work, resource estimates, and risk assessments for RF network projects and managed services opportunities.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines for RAN tuning, software upgrades, and fault remediation to accelerate incident response and reduce mean time to repair.
- Manage vendor acceptance and warranty claims related to RAN equipment and antenna systems by coordinating lab reproduction of issues and negotiating corrective actions with suppliers.
- Evaluate and recommend test automation and scripting (Python, shell) to streamline data extraction, KPI dashboards, and repetitive analysis tasks to increase team throughput.
- Support enterprise wireless consultancy projects including private LTE/5G and mission‑critical deployments with emphasis on SLA design, secure network separation, QoS, and lifecycle support.
Secondary Functions
- Assist sales and account teams with technical clarifications, scope adjustments, and client roadmaps to ensure project proposals align with realistic RF deliverables and timelines.
- Participate in RFP/RFI responses by providing detailed technical appendices, assumptions, and acceptance test criteria tailored to operator or enterprise needs.
- Support knowledge transfer and customer training sessions for client NOC and field teams on RF troubleshooting, drive test interpretation, and basic parameter change protocols.
- Contribute to continuous technical improvement by evaluating new RF tools, plugins, and AI/ML analytics that could enhance anomaly detection and automatic parameter tuning.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of network changes, lessons learned, and post‑implementation reviews to feed into future design and optimization cycles.
- Coordinate cross‑functional workshops with core network, transport, security, and applications teams to ensure alignment of RAN changes with end‑to‑end performance goals.
- Provide on‑call support for escalations during critical events, large‑scale rollouts, or new technology activations to ensure rapid restoration of service and minimal customer impact.
